DTM cars for 2013 fixed at the current level

After one of the most thrilling seasons in DTM history, the most popular international touring car series will head into the 2013 season at the same technical level. Technical regulations of the DTM, which came into force at the start of the 2012 season, were fixed for next year as of October 15th. In the next season, fans can again look forward to an equally closely matched drivers’ field and duels for hundredths of seconds.

"We have seen great competition this year. All three brands were capable of winning and at an equal level", said Hans Werner Aufrecht, chairman of DTM rights-holder and promoter ITR e.V. He added: "For us, maximum safety for the drivers and calculable costs for the manufacturers are significant cornerstones of our strategy, particularly in economically challenging times."

"The 2012 DTM generation as proven that the technical regulations, the result of a joint effort by the DMSB, ITR and the participating manufacturers, worked perfectly", said Dr. Hans-Gerd Ennser, presidium member of the Deutscher Motor Sport Bund (DMSB). "The regulations were a guarantee for a unique equality of chances, so that all the manufacturers involved have scored race wins and the battle for the overall title remained open until the final round. In 2013, we want to continue our progress in this successful way."
