Charles Pic has decided to take legal action against Formula 1 Team: Lotus and as a result, the team might not be able to leave the Circuit after the race until the matter has been resolved.
Pic was signed by Lotus towards the end of the 2014 season as a reserve driver and according to Pic's legal team, Lotus were meant to give him a few days behind the E22 but it never sufficed. As a consequence, Pic has now taken the matter to the courts and the Belgian Courts yesterday, issued an Attachment Order, which essentially prevents Lotus from leaving the country, till both parties can reach a consensus.
The problem came about with Lotus having profound issues with Renault V6 Power Unit - which was constantly breaking down - and Maldonaldo and Gresjean barely had any mileage due to it's unreliability. Therefore Lotus reached a conclusion that it would be more beneficial if Pic's time behind the wheel had to be passed over to the main drivers, in order for both Grosjean and Maldonaldo to get to grips with the E22.
Both Parties are in discussions to find a resolution and Gerard Lopez said he is confident the issue will be resolved ahead of the race.

The legal advisers at some teams are complete blithering idiots. Their contracts are worthless and they fail to foresee many obvious problems.
