Fresh doubts over the Italian GP has risen after Bernie Ecclestone told Autosport that there is a 'Good Chance' that it may fall off the calendar.

Monza currently has a contract till the end of 2016 and despite Government Funds and the very fact that it falls under a 'Historic Race' it's place on the calender is under seriously jeopardy. Ecclestone hopes that Monza doesn't drop off, but talks which are set to take place in September will conclude whether the contract is renewed or not.

Monza has hosted the Italian GP every year since the world championship started in 1950, apart from 1980 when the event went to Imola. Only Monaco has a special agreement whereby it does not pay a fee to host a race and sadly at this moment in time, Monza does not have the resources or finance to host a Grand Prix at today's market price.
