Former Three-time World Champion Niki Lauda has heard firsthand from Red Bull's Advisor Dr. Helmut Marko that he now regrets criticism that he made about Engine Partners Renault.

Red Bull and specifically Marko have consistently been vocal on the failure of Renault's inability to produce a competitive engine for 2014 and 2015 - furthermore lack of optimism for the 2016 Engine. Which has led Red Bull to announce the dissolution of their partnership with the French Manufactures, as they look for a new supplier.

Meanwhile, Non-Executive Chairman of Mercedes Niki Lauda reckons that fellow Austrian Marko now regrets the harsh criticism that he had made throughout the year. With Honda being the latest rejection of supplying Red Bull for next year, Lauda now has the view that their only option is to reconcile with Renault

“If you ask Marko honestly, 'did you make too much negative talk in your relationship with Renault?'

"He also said to me, 'Yes.'

"All I'm trying to say is that the only alternative if Red Bull wants to continue, and I think they want to, is to find a way with Renault. It's clear.”

US Grand Prix saw Renault use 11 of their 12 available tokens for their first engine update of the season. Experts believe it to be worth two-tenths extra per a lap, but ultimately both Red Bull and Renault decided against running it.

With both companies toeing the same line, may suggest that things might be more harmonious between the two.

So now Marko needs to lick Renault's exhaust pipe in an attempt to fix the broken relationship? ;)
