The first day of winter testing in 2016 has ended with Ferrari on top. Sebastian Vettel did a 1:24.939 in the morning and that turned out to be the best time at the end of the day. Mercedes did an impressive amount of laps. The only red flag of the day was caused by Haas F1 Team, due to a front wing failure on the main straight.

Meanwhile, Mercedes' Hamilton managed 156 laps and were only 5 tenths slower. But it does look promising, was afraid they maight be overestimating themselves. Nice to see McLaren managing this many laps, I hope this debunks the rumors about their new turbos being less reliable (I really hope this isnt the case, a faulty ICE is an even worse nightmare than a faulty MGU).

Nica Ferrari! ;)
It's still too early to tell but at least they were on the same tyre compound.
The backend of that Ferrari looks really nice and tight, even more than the Merc.

I believe that was Vettel in the Ferrari. If thats the case, the best time for that day was 1:22.620.

I believe Räikkönen scored the fastest lap on day 1 in Barcelona 2015, but Im not 100 and I dont think I recorded that time. Hamilton was sick that day, and didnt run.

The pole at Barcelona last year was a 1:24.681 from Rosberg.
So that is pretty impressive considering Vettel did his time on the medium tyres...
