Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has announced today its annual organizational and personnel changes, including Operating Officers and Directors' changes, effective April 1, 2016. In line with this decision, Honda has implemented changes in its managerial structure that oversees Honda’s Formula One (F1) project.
Honda Motor Co., Ltd will appoint a new Director role to oversee and supervise all F1 related undertakings to strengthen the organizational structure for Honda's F1 project. Yoshiyuki Matsumoto will be Senior Managing Officer and Director, Supervising Director of F1 Project, Honda Motor Co., Ltd and President, Chief Executive Officer and Representative Director, Honda R&D Co., Ltd.
Furthermore, in accordance with the organizational changes in Honda R&D Co., Ltd, Yusuke Hasegawa has been assigned to replace Yasuhisa Arai to oversee the development, manufacturing and management of the F1 project.

Very interesting, Honda must have been put under extreme pressure from RD to get rid of him and rightly so, their entry was the biggest joke, and an insult to a company such as Honda who win in everything they play in.

Surprising... maybe not. Since he is about to retire anyway, I figure they wanted the new faces on the case right away to get as much experience as possible. Meanwhile, Arai will enjoy another high ranked, wellpaid position within Honda until he retires. In any case, I dont think its a major loss for them: just like Arai, Matsumoto and Hasegawa are supposed to be wellrespected within Honda and Japan, so I dont think it'll take long for them to cover what Arai used to cover.
