Ferrari has beaten Mercedes, albeit only in a practice. Kimi Raikkonen was the only one to go under 1:37 in the second session in China, while Sebastian Vettel set the second time. Mercedes had to settle for P3 and P4, with Nico Rosberg ahead of Lewis Hamilton. Kevin Magnussen didn't do a single lap as Renault investigates the problems from first free practice. Esteban Gutierrez was unlucky again, as his rear brakes caught fire in his first run.

A bit premature to expect an interesting battle as we don't know if they were running ultra light compared to Merc.

Very nice session, nice to see a competitive Ferrari, and McLaren looks much better than I predicted this week. Can we perhaps hope for more points for them?
