The motor racing world reacted with surprise to the news of Daniil Kvyat's demotion. "Really?" said Jenson Button on Twitter, after Red Bull announced the Russian's return to Toro Rosso. "One bad race and Kyvat's dropped, what about the podium in the previous race?" the McLaren-Honda driver added.
But not everyone is surprised. "I see the Red Bull philosophy hasn't changed," said Dani Juncadella, a former member of the energy drink company's junior programme. "From hero to zero within a weekend," he added.
Others, however, suggested there is more to Kvyat's demotion, as it takes Max Verstappen out of the running in what is predicted to be a particularly hot 'silly season'. "My gut feeling is that (this) is more to do with RBR and the Verstappen camp getting a jump on the 2017 silly season," said former Caterham driver Karun Chandhok. The pressure will now be on 18-year-old Dutchman Verstappen to perform alongside Daniel Ricciardo.
Kvyat, meanwhile, at least gets a second chance at Toro Rosso. "Of course I'm sorry this has happened to Kvyat," Russian rally driver Nikolay Gryazin told Moscow television 360. "In the races, anything can happen and no one is immune from mistakes. I think Red Bull rushed to conclusions, but it's their decision. Kvyat will still be able to prove that he is one of the best in F1," he added. (GMM)

I really hope Kvyat wipes verstappen in the STR, then I would love to see Marko's face. Yes Kvyat has made mistakes, but he beat Ricciardo to the standings last year, got RBR their first podium last year and this year. He is a solid driver but can occasionally get caught up in the moment.

I agree, he is good but very inconsistent, and he tends to be affected by pressure. Now he'll likely feel less of that, so we'll be able to see a more stable Kvyat. This whole thing was probably more due to RB wanting to promote Verstappen than it was them punishing Kvyat, but it was a bit unfair to do it in this fashion.

Max will be wiped clean by Ricciardo. Kvyat if he doesn't close his trap he is on the way out of F1. Last year he was driving sensibly this year he has gone ape shaite nusto.

Kvyat needed to take a beating after his recent actions but maybe this is one step too far and it might backfire.

Kyvat has always been a hot or cold driver.
not sure why he's been doing dive bombs like he's playing a game like project cars.
this is real and in F1 you are supposed to be amongst the 20 best drivers in the world. mistakes are not supposed to be made with his experience.

Hi im new to this.... I have looked into my glassball.
It say's, Max is gonna wipe the floor with Ricciardo, just like in the kartsrace with all 4 RB drivers, and Sainz is gonna be second driver at RB next year Ricciardo will drive for mercedes instead of Rosberg, they let Rosberg win the championship, and then they put Riccioardo in his car!
Lewis wil be in Barbados today, making songs with his dog on a surfboard.
I bet you thats all tru.
