The next wild rumour is now firing in formula one, ahead of the championship's 'jewel in the crown' event in Monaco this weekend. Corriere dello Sport, an Italian newspaper, reports that a mysterious incident involving Lewis Hamilton's attendance at red carpet events in Cannes last week could mean the world champion sits out Monaco this weekend.
The story could tie in with Pascal Wehrlein's last-minute test in the Mercedes last Wednesday in Barcelona. "Yes, I would be ready," Wehrlein told Sky Italia after testing on Wednesday, when asked if he feels ready for a race seat at the silver works team. The young German admitted the call-up took him by surprise, as he received the phone call at 8pm on Tuesday evening and only had his Manor-branded helmet with him.
Corriere dello Sport did not have any details of the apparent Cannes nightclub incident except to say that it might involve "stolen photographs". Autosprint, an Italian specialist publication, said the incident reportedly happened at Cannes' Gotha Club. The reports also said Mercedes officials were already not happy with Hamilton, who had been asked to test in Barcelona but refused.
F1 legend Alain Prost, meanwhile, played down the crash between Hamilton and Nico Rosberg in Barcelona, although some drew parallels with his own legendary run-ins with Ayrton Senna. "These things happen in racing and you have to accept that," Prost told Germany's Auto Bild. "Of course if it happened every weekend, that would no longer be acceptable." (GMM)

If he really had stolen some photographs i´m not sorry for saying that he behaves like a stupid child.....
The best punishment would be Pascal racing his car for the next few races, or the whole season..

I cannot deny that I'd like to see Wehrlein in Mercedes, but Im not sure Mercedes will drop Hamilton for Monaco, even less the entire season. I wonder whats happened this time... In any case, Hamilton tend to get out of things like these smelling like roses, and I dont see things being different this time.

What if these stolen photographs contain explicit shots of Lewis while he's using drugs or something like that? I wouln't be too surprised...

If this is the case, Hamilton can wave good bye to his F1-career. Could also very well be someone trying to frame him, though we need more facts to conclude anything on that subject. I lean more towards another Hamiltonish mistake: he took a picture on something he isnt allowed to photograph, and now he might have to face the consequences for it.

Sounds like silly rumours indeed...
Even if he would have been dragged out of some nightclub kicking and screaming, I don't see why that would prevent him from racing.

Looks like another attempt to destabilise him. I'm not particularly a fan of his but the amount of crap he has to deal with is unbelievable... I've never known an F1 World Champion be treated like this to be honest..

Is he trying to get fired? I mean, he has a sixth sense of knowing when to get out of a team on it's downturn. Maybe Ricciardo to Ferrari...Lewis to Red Bull...Fernando to Merc...Vandoorne finally to McLaren???

What's the big deal? Hamilton's fractured psyche leads to a fracas in a nightclub. Can't have been the first time, won't be the last. Whether he's beating on those who have pictures of him doing the dirty up his nose or I.V. or crashing into parked cars, who cares? He's still basically fearless on track and likes to bring the demolition derby to F1 once in a while. He's a gangsta. He's a rapper. He's not going to listen to what the team asks him to do. He races for #1 in a #44 car. Ron Dennis learned this the hard way. Practically raised the Hamilton as a McLaren prodigy. A sportsman contract does not effectively replace slavery, Dennis ol' boy. Whether doing his best Fifty-Cent impression on the podium or Curious George in the press conference, Hamilton's going to have his way no matter what.

50 cent is a scumbag who openly looks down on the autistic, the road roller that would run him over and end his miserable existence would feel offended too. Such is the extent of the sheer repulsiveness of his existence. If Hamilton tries to be like that he is bye bye from F1.
