Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has set a new unofficial lap record for the Red Bull Ring. In the first free practice for the Grand Prix of Austria he posted a 1:07.373. No one has ever gone faster around this track. For an official lap record is has to be in the race. Lewis Hamilton was in second place and Sebastian Vettel rounded up the top three. Max Verstappen damaged his front suspension on the kerbs and ended up in the gravel trap.

I think mercedes are running low fuel, maybe 50%, and this makes sense, better to drive the car at the knifes edge with low fuel to get a feel for quali, though i do hope Ham crashes out :)
