Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has said that his team doesn't need to fear Ferrari any more and is in a fight with Mercedes.

Despite struggling last season, Red Bull are the only team other than Mercedes to win a race this year and have won the second most races since the 1.6 litre V6 Hybrid formula was introduced at the start of 2014

"We have a very strong car, strong drivers, the engine is improving," said Horner. "I don't think there is anything really to fear."

"We outscored Ferrari by 15 points at Silverstone [before gaining more from Nico Rosberg's penalty] and we outscored them by 13 points in Austria," he continued. "We have some of the more powerful circuits out of the way like Montreal, Baku and Austria and the circuits coming up hopefully play to some of our strengths."

"It's going to be a tight battle with them for the rest of the year."

Despite being closer to Ferrari in the Constructors' points standings, Horner believes that Mercedes are now their main rivals, not the team from Maranello.

"There are still areas where we can find time and performance but we're actually in the race with Mercedes now at certain circuits which is great to see," he said.

I believe they are much closer to Mercedes now than they ever have been, but i do think it will only be at certain circuits, and Hungary should be good for RedBull. Ferrari have spent too much time working on the engine and not the aero. They need to employ more technical engineers etc.
