Christian Horner is hoping that Red Bull will go into the summer break ahead of Ferrari.

Formula One heads into a four week break after this weekend's German Grand Prix and Red Bull currently sits just one point behind their Italian rivals.

However, Red Bull team principal Horner hopes that his team get overhaul Ferrari going into the break.

"Our target is to try and go into the summer break ahead of Ferrari," he said. "That's going to be tough at Hockenheim because it's a track that probably won't be one of our strongest but we're looking forward to it."

When asked if his team has resigned to finishing second behind Mercedes, Horner said: "we haven't settled for second because we still have to achieve it. There's still a long way to go in this championship."

"I think at times we've seen Mercedes' true performance. [Hungary is] similar to Monaco but it's not quite the same and the next big opportunity for us will be Singapore," he continued. "They've got quite a lot of pace in hand so there is still quite some way that we have to go to close that down."

This circuit is better for Ferrari, so probably not for the summer break. ;-)
