Sebastian Vettel says he is "patient" for success at Ferrari, despite the team's ongoing 'crisis'.

Italian media is calling the team's current situation a 'crisis' and continues to report that technical chief James Allison is set to leave, along with team boss Maurizio Arrivabene and driver Sebastian Vettel.

Arrivabene was forced to deny paddock speculation last weekend at the Hungarian Grand Prix and now Sebastian Vettel has moved to deny he is running out of patience with the team.

"Generally, patience is not a feature. of a racing driver because it contradicts all of its principles," he told Spain's Marca. "But some things you know whether they need more or less time."

"My move to Ferrari was never on the basis that everything will work by tomorrow. The team is building itself up again and for that we need time," said Vettel.

This weekend's German Grand Prix will mark the first time Vettel has raced on home turf since moving to Ferrari, a sight that is sure to evoke memories of Michael Schumacher's successful spell with the Italian team. Vettel believes having him behind the wheel of a Ferrari at Hockenheim could even help ticket sales, which have struggled in recent years.

"It would be very nice," said. "For me I think it is something very special to drive a Ferrari for the first time in Germany.

"Let's see if the people also think it's special and there are more red caps than silver," Vettel smiled.

"Happenheim (Vettel's hometown) is not far from Hockenheim, only half an hour, so there will be lots of my family and friends at the track which makes it very special.

"I started racing in karts in Walldorf, which is only 5 kilometres away so it's like racing in my living room," he added.

  • A driver is only a driver at the end of the day, without solid engineering direction and ideas, no good driver can do anything to win. Good luck with Allison's exit your gonna need it, a lot of it Seb.
