Toto Wolff has admitted that Mercedes' engine reliability is still a concern.

The manufacturer implemented a number of quick fixes following Lewis Hamilton's failure at the Malaysia Grand Prix, but Wolff is still worried.

"It's not an easy situation. In one week you are unable to identify the problem in full," he admitted.

"We are trying to contain it in many ways, but it is no guarantee that we will be ok in the race," he is quoted by Brazil's UOL.

It is thought that one of the measures implemented was banning Mercedes drivers from using a special 'qualifying mode' on Saturday.

  • It makes the races much more interesting when Mercedes can't use the 'qualifying mode'. The mercedes engine is still the strongest, but Red Bull and Ferrari are much closer without it.

    • Very true. Of course, it would be even nicer if the other cars could also use the quali mode, but thats not an option as it stands this year.
