Nico Rosberg says he is "aware" that the championship fight could be over this weekend.
Rosberg's 26 point lead means that if he wins and Lewis Hamilton retires or fails to score this weekend, the championship is his.
When asked about the possibility of winning the championship this weekend, Rosberg told the APA news agency: "Of course I'm aware of it."
But as he has all season, Rosberg is insisting that he is taking each race one at a time.
"I will focus on Mexico and trying to get the victory there," said Rosberg.
He also told Bild newspaper: "In Formula One, you can't expect anything. If you start thinking in your mind that it's over, then you've already lost.
"So I'm still going to every race to win."
Team boss Toto Wolff, however, thinks Rosberg needs to focus on simply finishing the race.
"He has to be careful he does not DNF -- that's what counts," the Austrian said.
"Nico is in a difficult situation," Wolff added. "He has to stay aggressive on one side, but on the other side not risk a crash."
Team chairman Niki Lauda thinks that despite what he says, Rosberg has his mind on the championship now.
"Nico is thinking about the championship, no matter what he says. Sometimes you just have to go tactical, but if you go too slow then things can start to go wrong."

Rosberg were quite dominant at the last 3 races last year, dare we hope that he can repeat that feat?

We'll see. Many people thought Rosberg was so dominant after the US GP last year because Lewis didn't bother anymore. Rosberg has the chance to prove them wrong this time.

I hope he does, I'd really really like that.

I hope not :P I think Lewis has driven an exceptional season and deserves it much more than Nico does. I haven't checked it, but I believe Hamilton would have been champion already without all of his reliability problems. I'd rather see Rosberg not finishing in Mexico, making it a level playing field between the two for the final two races. If he'd win the championship then, I'd find it easier to accept.

Thats some major horseshit seen from other planet, Hamilton has driven a mediocre season as always when problems stuck other guy in the other car. Nico Rosberg has been the one who has been very consistent yet too soft when it comes to banging wheels with his teammate, he needs to do a Hamilton on Hamilton and elbow his way to the title. Thats Nico's only problem. Nico tries too much to be the gentleman.

Lol. Hamilton had clutch problems in the beginning of the season, he has had engine problems in China, Russia, Baku, Singapore and Malaysia, he had penalties in Belgium that made him start at the back of the grid. Still he is "only" 26 points behind Rosberg. What bad luck did Rosberg had? Vettel driving into him in Malaysia. That's it, and he finished that race on the podium due to Lewis his failed engine.
Hamilton has actually been driving a very consistent season. His car hasn't been very consistent though.
