Max Verstappen saw "an opportunity to attack" - Christian Horner

Christian Horner has defended Max Verstappen for his actions on the openng lap of the Mexican Grand Prix.
The Red Bull driver made contact with Nico Rosberg on the opening lap in a move that could have cost Rosverg the world championship had it played out differently, but Horner says that Verstappen was right to just concentrate on his own race.
"Max does not see Nico fighting for the title, he sees an opportunity to attack," he said. "That is why he is such a great driver."
The Red Bull team boss also spoke of Sebastian Vettel's radio outbust.
The German, who won four titles with Red Bull, could be heard telling race director Charlie Whiting to **** off, something Horner believes will lead to a punishment.
"I do wonder if Sebastian will get away with it," said Horner.
Meanwhile, Red Bull's motorsport advisor Dr. Helmut Marko was also critical of Vettel's actions.
"Vettel's behaviour is unworthy of a four-time world champion," he said.

Why should Max consider the fact Nico is racing fit the title? A race is a race on its own, and every driver will try to overtake when he sees a possibility. I agree with Christian that the behaviour of Vettel should be a greater concern

Nico got 5 sec penalty in German GP for "pushing" driver of the road and there was no contact with Max, Max bumps Nico of the road and have face to ask for Nico penalty for gaining advantage after leaving road....

Nico had a chance to avoid Verstappen there. He deliberately pushed him off in Germany. Big difference.
Here it was not intentional and it was in the start mayhem. They are always a bit easier then. I would have thought Verstappen would get a penalty there. That would be acceptable.
