Yusuke Hasegawa "Honda 2017 power unit almost finished"

Honda have almost finished construction of their 2017 power unit as they continue their iron out their switch of focus to 2017.
Honda last introduced an engine upgrade at the Malaysian Grand Prix and since then have been looking at improving the engine for next season.
"The concept is nearly finished," head of F1 project Yusuke Hasegawa said. "We have started engine testing on the dyno for 2017, so we will continue to improve performance through testing until very close to next season. We cannot go into any details at this point."
"Some of the development that we have put into effect in 2016, like weight reduction and reliability updates will always be useful in any situation.
"Though we cannot go into technology specifics for 2017, the overall power unit regulations will not change drastically, so many things we learned from 2016 can be used as fundamental technology and data for 2017."

I've got huge faith in Honda for 2017. They've made big gains under Hasegawa's leadership. Without a token limit for 2017, they can now fix the fundamental flaws and fix the gap. I can only hope McLaren will deliver. I have to admit, I've got less faith in them than I have in Honda.

But regardless of McLaren leading the field, or trailing the field, I'll keep supporting them!

Same here, but as a die-hard Honda fan, I "might" be a bit biased. ;)
And yeah, they're my favourite team either way, so I'll continue to cheer for them. :)
