The Canadian Grand Prix will go ahead next year.
The news comes after the race was listed as subject to confirmation, following a delay to promised circuit improvements.
But the city's mayor Denis Coderre tweeted in French on Tuesday: "Agreement in principle with (F1) and (race organiser) Octane.
"There will be a Grand Prix of Canada in 2017."
And the French-language Quebec newspaper La Presse revealed that tickets for the race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in June will go on sale this Thursday.
The report said: "The announcement comes a week before the publication of the final 2017 calendar by the World Motor Sport Council."

I suspect is has nothing to do with Lance, typically Montreal sells out every year. Keep on eye on the grand stands even for FP1, they're always sold out; we love our F1 in Canada...:) To my knowledge the track is independently owned and there are few events held at the track there other than F1, so unfortunately the owners struggle every year to pay off Bernie.
