Ron Dennis and David Beckham in bust-up

Ron Dennis caused a stir at a New Years' event by getting into a confrontation with football legend David Beckham.

F1i reports that the pair were attending a performance at One & Only Reethi Rah in the maldives when Dennis and his entourage claims a number of reserved seats.

However, when someone from Beckham's camp challenged Dennis, the former McLaren boss dismissed the clams.

He was then confronted face-to-face by Beckham himself, leading to Dennis to apologise the following day.

"It's fair to say voices were raised but it was all a storm in a teacup," a friend of Dennis' revealed. "They have known each other for ages and it was all blown over by the next day."
