New F1 rule to reduce penalties for racing incidents

F1 has tweaked the rules so that drivers are penalised less often in 2017. This week, the final sporting regulations for the new season were published.
Of particular note was article 38.1, following widespread criticism that too many penalties are being given to drivers for on-track incidents. Now, the rules state that even if Charlie Whiting reports an incident, the stewards can "decide whether or not to proceed with an investigation".
And another tweak should restrict whether a driver can be penalised for borderline racing incidents. "Unless it is clear to the stewards that a driver was wholly or predominantly to blame for an incident, no penalty will be imposed," the regulations now state. (GMM)

About time, and it's open season for Max now, but I bet Max has a big crash this year, hopefully without getting injured!

This is all still left up for interpretations, there will always be those who see it different from the stewards. Furthermore this doesn't stop bias from creeping in on how these decisions are meted out. For example the stewards have been awfully shameless on how they tried to help butthurtboy stay in title contention when he should have had some severe penalties for dick moves he pulled on track against Nico and others.

Yes. Exactly. Stewards are still going to be biased. A shame they couldn´t solve this problem. And it was damn obvious that they helped Hamilton & Max more than any other competitor.
