McLaren are the latest team to announce that they have passed the mandatory crash tests. All teams are required to meet the ever growing safety standards before pre-season testing which kicks off in one months time.

Racing director at McLaren Eric Bouillier also teased about the highly anticipated livery that will feature on their 2017 car, with previous hints pointing towards an orange livery: "After a lot of hard work, I want to say thanks to those who helped us pass the FIA crash tests. Now to get it painted!"

McLaren join Force India, Toro Rosso and Haas in teams who have successfully passed the crash tests. The 2017 challenger from McLaren will be revealed on February 24.

Where has he hinted that it will be orange?

    • I agree, he didnt really insinuate this anywhere in this tweet, however people seem to read everywhere all the time that McLaren will sport an orange livery. Not that I'd mind, even if I prefer their current livery, but its a tradition by now to report that McLaren "might" sport an orange livery.

Just a pitty this tiny article had to include nonsense. Started to notice a lot of it on this website. I joined here because I thought a smaller site like this with hardly any comments might be more honest but it seems like the person who comments most is a troll and the journalism is crap.

    • Well, generally speaking I still think the standard here on this site is good, it doesnt exactly contain less nonsense than other sites. And the flow with news here is better than many other sites. To be fair to whoever wrote this: almost all comments seemed to have interpreted it in the same way... So maybe Boullier had hinted on the colour in a different statement, or something?
