2016 wasn't a great year for Ferrari in Formula One as the team failed to claim a victory and slipped to third in the constructor standings. In a year where the team was tipped to challenge the dominant Mercedes, they only fell further behind.
However the Italian brand enjoyed a lot of success financially as the company made an overall net profit of 400 million euros. Compare this to 2015, where the net profit amounted to 290 million euros.
Ferrari shipped 8.014 cars in 2016 and income went up to 3.11 billion euros. Ferrari is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, and plan to ship about 8,400 cars in 2017. Ferrari president Sergio Marchionne has set the goal of shipping 9,000 cars in 2019.

Thats's just over 20k per car net profit, not alot when you take into account the average sale price, even before tax! Think they need to be taken over by Germans to show them efficiency. Italians great for design and beauty, but crap at business!

and their cars are over priced even for a hyper car. Pretty bad efficiency indeed.

Agreed, Ferrari is far too traditional, as was Jaguar and Lotus among others, and they really need to up their game.
