Red Bull's Dr. Helmut Marko believes that bigger teams should receive more money because they add more to the sport.
The European Commission are considering whether to investigate the sport's practices and amid new owner Liberty Media's plans for the next commercial contracts beyond 2020.
Some, however, think the small teams deserve a much more level playing field in the area of income distribution, but Marko doesn't think so.
He told Germany's Auto Motor und Sport: "I don't want to name particular small teams, but Red Bull does a lot of promotion, 'show car' runs, things like this.
"In addition, the 2016 season would have been a relatively bland affair without (Max) Verstappen, and only we had the courage to put him there," Marko added.

What a load of conceited selfish bullmerde.
“Red Bull does a lot of promotion, 'show car' runs, things like this.”
And what are they promoting? The Red Bull brand, of course.
‘ "In addition, the 2016 season would have been a relatively bland affair without (Max) Verstappen, and only we had the courage to put him there," Marko added.’
Only Red Bull had the courage to transfer Verstappen from Toro Rosso?
It would have been rather difficult for any other team to do that.
Marko has got this completely wrong.
For the sake of the fans and F1 the smaller teams should be given a better chance of financial parity in order to compete towards the front.

Agreed, they are promoting nothing but themselves.

Good teams deserve more money. Big teams that underperform are bloated and need some pruning, or a serious caffeine injection to get some motivation to perform. Whoever ends up last this year deserves the lowest sum, simple as that, no matter if its Sauber or Red Bull, or even Ferrari.

Stupid comments from Marko.. giving bigger teams more money is one of the biggest current problem in the sport.. Just shows that these guys don't care about the sport at all, all they think about is cash

He is promoting his employer's interest. It makes us stupid, if we buy what he is trying to sell.

You can't blame them for promoting, I mean I'm sure that was the aim when RB entered F1, but to not consider the good of the sport after all the success they've went through is sickening

I've never been fond of Marko, he is far too full of himself, the exact image of how most companies behave.

Arrogant bullshit. Why lots of fans are turning away from 'sport'. Red bull can afford to do these activities. They can also afford a talented driver not paid. Comments above are true too. Nonsense

F1 still complains about these things when they fail to focus on the real issues... That's why Liberty are our saving angels in my eyes

I deserve more money because I said so.

Can someone here please explain how you can "upvote" someone else's comment?
