Kimi Raikkonen ended the second day of pre-season testing in first place, setting the fastest lap of the test so far, a 1:20.960. The Iceman completed 108 laps, further strengthening the teams reliability programme.

The Finn was only two hundreds of a second ahead of Lewis Hamilton who clocked up 66 laps with his fastest time being a 1:20.983. Max Verstappen's Red Bull was third, setting 89 laps.

Haas will be very happy with their running today, as they racked up 118 laps and managed to get Kevin Magnussen's car fourth fastest. Esteban Ocon's Force India was fifth, completing 86 laps despite some early car problems.

Daniil Kvyat was sixth fastest, with the Toro Rosso securing 68 laps. Valtteri Bottas set an incredible 100 laps, despite only taking over the car from team mate Hamilton after the lunch break. The Finn spun his car at turn nine where he hit the barrier on the right rear, but no major damage resulted.

Jolyon Palmer had a relatively quiet morning as the team fixed some issues, but managed to bring his car across the line 53 times in the afternoon. A power unit change for Sauber meant that Antonio Giovinazzi's day was hindered, but placed his car ninth on the fastest lap board, setting 65 laps.

McLaren's woes continue as Stoffel Vandoorne stopped in the pitlane at the start of the session, and the team were forced to make a second power unit change in two days. The Belgian got out in the afternoon and completed 40 laps.

Williams day was halted early on when Lance Stroll spun his car into the gravel which damaged the front wing. Due to a lack of parts, the team were forced to stop proceedings after only 12 laps.

  • Again that good reliability from Ferrari, lots of mileage. But some of it were short runs. However that fast run came with the soft not the super soft turdboy used on his run. Times don't mean much now without fuel loads details but it is something that is turning into a habit now. Ferrari need to aim for more mileage by having both drivers work on the same day

  • I'm not a big Hamilton fan either but come here for the racing news and interesting comments. Could do without the racial slurs. Racism looks so good on you.
