Sebastian Vettel is happy with his 2017 car, the SF70-H, but is wary of the pace of other teams. Ferrari have surprised some with the pace and reliability they have shown at testing so far.
The times that are being set are the fastest since 2009, as the Maranello team topped the second day of testing.
"Of course you can see the times, but we focus on ourselves, as it looks now, the car is good and there are no major problems, that's important," the German told Sky Italia. "In terms of performance it is too early to draw conclusions, there is still a lot of work. to do."
While Vettel is happy to be racing with more downforce, he would like to see the cars made lighter in a number of years.
"The only downside is that the cars are quite heavy compared to a few years ago. It would be nice to have the same downforce, but with cars that are 150 kilograms lighter, like 10 years ago.

The reliability seems good, very good. The times are pretty much pointless for now.

Looking at how the times have been going, I wonder how much is sand bagging vs. trying to see what their cars can really do.

It appears Mercedes are not sandbagging anymore however Ferrari's pace is probably not representative as they are running with lesser fuel board.

Whats interesting for me is that Mercedes hasnt done as many laps as they did last year, while Ferrari has had less technical problems and has done more laps so far compared to last year.

Wonder how RB has close played their cards to their chest so far?
