Lewis Hamilton has said that he would be interested in taking part in a MotoGP race one day and feels that drivers should be allowed to take part in different racing series following Fernando Alonso's decision to skip the Monaco Grand Prix for the Indy 500.
McLaren announced on Wednesday that the Spaniard would not be taking part in the race, as he will be travelling to the US to compete in one of the most famous and prestigious races of all time.
Drivers have been welcoming the prospect of racing in different categories, with three-time world champion Lewis Hamilton coming out and saying that MotoGP would interest him.
"I think it's great that a driver is able to do that," Hamilton said of Alonso's Indy 500 entry. "I think us drivers should be able to do more than one series. There was a period of time in the past where there were drivers doing multiple series. I think it's pretty cool that he's doing it."
"I wouldn't miss any of the races in F1, definitely continue to do all the races," Hamilton said. "I'd like to do MotoGP. I'd like to ride a MotoGP race. Probably a NASCAR race like the Daytona 500 maybe."

As the team budgets, and driver salaries increase, his wish not going to materialize.
