Nico Rosberg has denied that he is set to make a comeback in Formula 1 in the future. The German retired from the sport after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2016, where he won his first world title after an intense season against teammate Lewis Hamilton.

Toto Wolff, who oversaw the three-year duel between Rosberg and Hamilton, last week said that he could imagine Rosberg back in F1 in the future, perhaps in the seat of a Ferrari:  "He's only 31, he's still young. Perhaps he will change his mind."

Since retiring, Rosberg has been seen posting frequently on social media about his new found life. He spends all of his time with his wife Viviane and their daughter. They are also expecting another child later this year.

"No, I really have finished my career," Rosberg told Germany's Sport Bild. "I am happy and proud of the results and the successes I have had. It fulfils me a lot. But it's now in the past and I'm going to do new things. I've never thought about it but I'd probably say no."

And a foray in another series, like Formula E, is also off the Rosberg table for now: "At the moment no," he said. "I am currently looking for other challenges. But who knows. Maybe one day in the future."
