Antonio Giovinazzi says that he is eager to learn why he crashed heavily into the barriers during the first practice session in Hungary which ended his session prematurely. The Italian admits that he has his suspicions that driver error was not the main culprit.

Giovinazzi turned into Turn 11 during the session only to find the rear stepping out and swinging around, sending him sideways on into the barrier. The left side of the car suffered hefty damage, leaving the mechanics with plenty to do before the second practice session gets underway.

"We still don't know, to be honest," Giovinazzi said when asked what happened. "I had a few laps and to be honest the lap time was already quite good, then I just lost the car with aggressive step oversteer on entry, so I think we had a problem.

"We are checking the data and I hope we can find it soon. I lost 50 minutes of FP1, and already have not enough time in the car this year, so I'm disappointed for this, and also for Kevin – for FP2 I hope the car can be ready."

I can explain. Too high speed in the corner without having control of the car.
