Kevin Magnussen has told Nico Hulkenberg to "suck my balls" after the German confronted the Haas driver after the Hungarian Grand Prix. Hulkenberg was annoyed that Magnussen pushed him off the track as he attempted to overtake around the outside of Turn 2.
The pair were battling for the eleventh spot on the grid when the incident happened and Magnussen was deemed to have driven in an unfair manner, which prompted the stewards to give him a 5 second time penalty. Hulkenberg later retired from the race.
As the drivers were in the press pen giving interviews for TV broadcasters, Hulkenberg approached the former McLaren and Renault driver and told him: "Once again, you're the most unsporting driver on the grid," to which Magnussen replied: "Suck my balls, mate."

I really, really hope he doesn't end up apologising. Of course the chance of that happening is probably 0,00001% at best.
But Hulkenberg was really patronising here, so good for Kevin for standing up for himself. Plus considering that he hit Grosjean in the first corner, he was not in any position to act like he was a saint.

Agreed. I have to admit, I'm a bit of a Hulkenberg fan, but in this case he had no right to complain at Magnussen. The incident Hulk had with RG was a first turn racing incident imo.. and the incident between KMag and Hulk was just racing. Hulk should have anticipated better, as you know that when you're on the outside, you run the risk of getting pushed off.

I agree with you. But I can also see why the chose to punish Magnussen. He could have left him a minimum of space. But at he at least telegrafed what was going to happen if Hulkenberg didn't back off.
What's even worse is that Verstappen does this all the time, most recently at Silverstone, with no consequences.

I don't think it should be punished when Verstappen or any other driver does this either. As long as they are in front they have the right to do so imo. We have seen Hamilton do this very often as well, but I really have no problem with it. I was very surprised to see Magnussen being punished tbh. Like you say, there are no repercussions when others do this either.

I think that they should always be penalized for not leaving space on the track, its a simple rule. The stewards just need to be more consistent. They should have penalized Sainz for doing the same thing to Fernando...

I don't necessarily care either way, as long as they're consistent. And that pretty much applies to all these different race incidents.
In a perfect world the stewards would be very lenient in all these situations - but if they don't want to do that, at least be consistent.

Thats probably one of my main gripes with F1 at the moment: the stewards arent very consistent with how they deal out penalties.

He did not say "Suck my balls, mate." He did say: "Suck my balls, honey", which is even more offensive.

I think you forget one thing: Magnussen only gave a nasty reply as a reaction to an impudent interrupting of a live television interview, where Hulks purpose was just trying to humiliate Magnussen worldwide by claiming he was the most unfair driver on the grid.. Not fair. IMO Magnussen was defending his P11 brilliantly by defensive driving towards Hulkenberg. When you drive wide you run a risk. It was just a clean battle seen very often in F1. Sainz and Verstappen do this very often and no penalties are given. Just MAG gets a penalty with no contact at all - but in the first lap Hulkenberg drives straight into GRO and doesn't get a penalty. Frustrating for Magnussen. Poor stewardship IMO.
I agree, not the best choice of words by Magnussen but under these circumstances I fully understand him though.

yes, F1 stewardship is very inconstant, they were wrong o this one, just racing IMO... Don't like this track, not a lot of action, can really get close to any one, so almost no overtaking... Boring....

Magnussen is just odd. When he took out Ericsson in the first corner in Australia he apologized afterwards but later on denied it to the press.
Must have inhaled to much gas fumes over the years.

In this era of PC cancer culture he will be forced to apologize or be dragged infront of the FIA tribunal citing how young f**ktard kiddies will be given the wrong message. Huhuhuh :( how sad right? ...NOT!
Nico is right to be annoyed and Mag is being a dick but it is refreshing to here him speak his mind!
