Ferrari snubs former president Montezemolo at Monza

Former Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo did not receive an invite from the Italian team this weekend at Monza. Ferrari is celebrating its 70th anniversary this weekend with the cars, race suits and clothing all branding the number 70.
Curiously, Montezemolo was also born in 1947 - exactly 70 years ago - and the team's former long-time president also celebrated his birthday this week.
The Italian told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "I have not been invited to Monza. But that does not matter much. The main thing is that Ferrari wins again."
When he was ousted in 2014, Montezemolo publicly fell out with new Ferrari president Sergio Marchionne. He continued: "I miss Ferrari very much and also the races, but even more so the factory, the men and the women of Maranello."
Di Montezemolo became manager of Ferrari back in 1974 and oversaw Niki Lauda's success at the team, working closely with founder Enzo Ferrari. His career at the legendary Scuderia outfit spanned over 40 years, and he now works as a non-executive chairman of the Board of Directors of Italian flag carrier Alitalia.

Petty and in poor taste. I would be surprised if it were not Ferrari. Refraining from inviting the most important leader Ferrari ever had except for Enzo...

Im hardly a fan of di Montezemolo, he is far too keen on flapping his mouth at anything even remotely similar to an ear, and Ferrari is by no means obliged to do this, but it would've been a nice gesture.
