Daniel Ricciardo admitted that he was not happy with his finishing position at the Singapore Grand Prix, as he ended the race in second position. The Australian fell behind Lewis Hamilton at the start of the race, who benefitted most from the collision between Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen and Max Verstappen.

However, despite showing some strong pace on Friday during practice, the 27-year-old couldn't mirror the speed of the car that he drove on the first day of running. It is the fourth year in a row that he's finished on the podium at Singapore but has failed to win.

"I can’t win the bloody thing, I’m trying, I’m trying! I like it around here," Ricciardo laughed on the podium. "Today, we don’t have probably that Friday pace we showed in practice to have the edge on Mercedes, so a little bit disappointed obviously to miss out on a win. I’ve still got to be pretty grateful and happy with another podium."

Ricciardo also gave his view on the Turn 1 incident: "I just kind of watched the chaos unfold in front of me. It was probably a good thing I had a bad start, otherwise I would have got caught up in it. It just looked like three were trying to go into one. I don’t know whose fault it was, but it was just too close."

    • Bwahaha that's rich, coming from you moron hype boy fanboys. Atleast Ricciardo knows how to point the nose in the right direction without crashing into others and then he finishes 2nd. Meanwhile if Ricciardo really did have gearbox issues like RBR allege that's more than enough reason to be pissed at throwing away a shot at that win. Not that I believe RBR. I think they were over confident of their pace, they were never really that quick in race trim.
