Daniil Kvyat will return to Toro Rosso from the US Grand Prix until the end of the season, after it was announced Carlos Sainz would leave the team for Renault. Sainz, who was scheduled to drive for the French team in 2018, will instead make his debut a bit early, completing the final four races of the season with the team.
Kvyat was dropped from Toro Rosso on the build-up to the Malaysian Grand Prix, as Pierre Gasly was drafted in. Kvyat and gasly will partner each other from in the remaining rounds of the championship, but nothing is yet confirmed for 2018.

That's good news for Williams, Renault and Haas. It will be easier to stay in front of the Toro Rossos now that a rookie and Kvyat are driving.

Throwing Kvyat a bone, nice move. He must have little self respect to accept a ride only when others leave or get promoted ahead of him.
