Haas has become the first Formula 1 team to reveal its 2018 car, titled the VF18. The car was launched online and is the American team's third car since joining the F1 grid in 2016.
The car will be piloted once again by Romain Grosjean, who has been with the team since its inception. Kevin Magnussen will partake in his second year with the team, having joined up at the start of 2017 as a replacement for Mexican Esteban Gutierrez.
The most noticeable change with the car is the Halo, which has been made mandatory for all teams in 2018 as the FIA eyes an improvement in driver safety. Also, it was elected last year that the shark fins and T-wings would no longer feature on the cars.
The car's livery resembles its maiden machine of 2016, with red featuring on its nose and rear wing. The American squad has also elected to paint it's Halo black, with teams having the freedom to design the device so it blends in with its livery.
Earlier this week, Gene Haas set out the goals for his team this season, stating that he hoped it would close in on Ferrari by half a second.

Looks okay actually. The rear of the car is nice, where the shark fin used to be

Yeah, good riddance to the sharkfin, IMO.

Looks good. Glad to see the sharkfin gone. I actually dont really notice the halo that much. Also glad they returned to having red in their livery, I found their livery to be boring without it.

The livery is an improvement over last year. The halo.... I'll get over it.

So good to see sharkfin gone. The halo? Still hideous, but they did a good job hiding it with shadows and blacks... The livery? It looks like it was also designed by an engineer. Also do they seriously have no sponsors or are those coming later?

I like the driver line-up and the interplay between Magnussen and Grosjean. They are also both reasonable drivers and provide us with much needed levity via their on-track antics and radio chatter. F1 has become very po-faced these past few years - too many “media trained” drivers floating about. It’s the car that’s doubtful.
