Ferrari's 2018 cars will be painted a deeper shade of red than usual. That is the claim of Giorgio Terruzzi, a well-connected Italian journalist writing for Corriere della Sera newspaper.
The report came as Red Bull launched its new car on Monday, featuring a striking temporary livery that will likely be replaced by next week in Barcelona. Still, Daniel Ricciardo said: "The car looked very cool today."
As for the new Ferrari, Terruzzi said the tone of red is expected to be darker, thanks in part to the departure of sponsor Santander. He said the 2018 livery, to also feature less white, is similar to the shade of red seen on the 312 car of 1969.
McLaren, meanwhile, is now widely expected to move to all orange for 2018, with Fernando Alonso getting his first look this week. "It's very beautiful, I think you'll like it," he said. "Everything is ready for the winter test." (GMM)

I dont mind. By now, Ferrari pretty much has to have a red car, so I can imagine that its hard for them to vary it much. A morello red Ferrari could be cool, even if it really isnt the Ferrari red shade.

Before the arrival of Schumacher (hope we see you again sometime Michael) Ferrari Rosso was much darker and ‘full blooded’. I never cared for the ‘orange era’ much, so if this is true, it’s a welcome change for me and of course, it will make the car quicker or perhaps I should have said, “for sure” it will. ?

Darker is good, I agree the illuminous era was 'different' and the darker colours are brilliant. When in Milan last year I saw a few older alfa's in the traditional blood red colours are they were awesome, so a welcome thumbs up from me!

Ya it’s going to be Ferrari Rosso on a Rosso backwash with Rosso accents. Seriously though, Ferrari never had contrast on their schemes save for black and the odd ‘Agip’ decal and it is this minimalist all over ‘blood’ red, to me, the real deal, but I can see that with the rise of graphic design interest among younger fans, this may not be an ideal solution for them. Either way, if it’s quick, no one will care too much..
