Rosberg to join Sky Sports F1 at 'key' 2018 races

Sky Sports has revealed that Nico Rosberg will join their pundit line-up at certain races throughout the 2018 season, starting this weekend in Melbourne. The 2016 Formula 1 world champion retired days after claiming his title, and made his Sky Sports debut last year at the Japanese Grand Prix.
The 32-year-old will provide fans with "unparalleled insight on the 2018 F1 season." Rosberg will also work as a pundit for German broadcaster RTL this year, following the retirement of Niki Lauda. Despite not having the same excitement as racing a car, Rosberg admits he is looking forward to his new role.
"I'm really excited to be joining the Sky Sports F1 team for the 2018 season," Rosberg said. "Although getting behind the microphone doesn't quite match the thrill of getting behind the wheel, I got a taste of it with Sky Sports last year and loved it.
"2018 should be a fascinating battle, and hopefully I can offer fans a bit of an insight into the teams, the personalities and everything it takes to be an F1 driver. I can't wait to get started."
One of Rosberg's new colleagues Martin Brundle added: "I'm delighted to welcome Nico to the team. His knowledge of the latest hybrid cars, the Mercedes team and Lewis Hamilton is second to none.
"Nico will provide both the most ardent motorsport fan and the casual viewer with expert analysis and insight. He's a good guy, it will be fun to have him around," he added.

Damn, deep inside I know he would like to come back, it's not unfinished business in his case but he just ran away.

Agree. I too felt, he ran away from defending his title. He should have proved his worth.

I honestly dont think so. I think he felt that to be a more complete win, finishing things his way. Now he can be close to F1 without having to race. Im sure drivers will always long back in some way, but Im pretty sure F1 is a done chapter for Rosberg.

It may be his way of getting closer to Lewis to rekindle their relationship. According to past comments he's made this is something he seems to need really badly.

Need and want are different things. He certainly seem to wish for a better relation between the two, but Im not sure either of them really need it.
