Start-finish straight DRS zone lengthened in Bahrain

The DRS zone on the start-finish straight in Bahrain has been lengthened for this weekend's Grand Prix in order to boost overtaking. At the season-opening Australian Grand Prix just under two weeks ago, a third DRS zone was added to allow drivers to get closer to each other.
While there will be no additional DRS zone implemented onto the Sakhir circuit, the drivers will be able to activate the DRS 170 metres after the final corner, whereas last season, the wing could only be opened 270 metres after the final turn.
Drivers will be able to use DRS when they are within one second of the car ahead while passing through the detection point. The detection point for the DRS on the start-finish straight is located on the entry into the final corner, with the run down into the first turn being the most inviting overtaking opportunity.

Dunno how that'll help things, IMO Bahrain really is one of the dullest races on the calendar, along with Abu-Dhabi.

It might change things a bit. 100 meters, so that is roughly the pit-in demarc. So the driver deploys the DRS roughly one-third of a second sooner. Now the braking zone comes one-half second sooner with the added speed at the speed trap. More chances to overcook the brakes or the corner.
