Kevin Magnussen believes that midfield drivers have to be more aggressive than the drivers that are fighting for the world championship. The Dane was once again under fire from his fellow drivers after the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Sunday due to his aggressive driving.
Toro Rosso's Pierre Gasly labelled the Haas driver as the "most dangerous guy I've ever raced with". The pair collided after a late safety car restart, with Magnussen cutting across and hotting Gasly, who was pinned against the wall.
Magnussen has defended his aggressive style of driving, stating that when you're racing outside of the points, you have nothing to lose: "I race hard," he said to Reuters. "In a situation like this with a midfield team, you’re not guaranteed to score points. And sometimes you have nothing to lose.
“You might get a penalty, you might lose your front-wing but there’s nothing to lose if you’re 11th," he added. "Go for it. Sometimes you have to be a lot more aggressive when you’re fighting out there."
And the former McLaren and Renault driver says that he would give everything and even die in a race car: "I don’t like compromises. I will give everything. I will die in the car. I won’t hold back. I would put my life on the line. Absolutely.
"When you put your helmet on and you’re in the race, I find that’s just everything there is in the world. "I love my family, and there’s so many things in life I enjoy, but when I’m in the car there’s nothing else that means anything."

Hardcore mofo.
I am not so sure others would agree to die in the car with him, so he should be respectful of that at least.

Everybody praises Michael Schumacher for his titles and wins. But during his motorsport career he was more aggressive and tough to his opponents than Magnussen or the other drivers in the field ever will be. People seems to forgetting that.

KMag is good but nowhere near what Schumi was. Schumi was skilled enough so that many people didnt mind that aggressiveness.

There are professionals paid to regulate the irresponsible driving. Let them do their job. If they clear Magnussen's drive, perhaps he is in good.

Oh please. We get it, you're trying really hard. But there's no excuse for the reckless maneuvers of which he has been guilty. Magnussen is having a great year, I hope he doesn't go unhinged like last year and leaves people talking more about his recklessness than his driving.

I really hope he'll remain calm. Driving aggressive isnt necessarily bad, but we dont need road rage. And Haas certainly dont.
