After a strong last lap forcing, Sebastian Vettel was able to put a good enough lap to grab the second place in the qualifying session. The German driver accepted his qualifying defeat and made several comments regarding Ferrari's performance throughout the Monaco weekend and also about Ricciardo's stunning lap.
"I'm pretty happy I guess. There's always a feeling that there's a little bit but I don't think there was a threat to Daniel's time today. I think we can look back and think 'here, there', especially around this place, but well done to Daniel, he pulled a good qualifying session." Vettel said shortly after the qualifying session concluded.
When asked about Ferrari's performance in today's qualifying session, Vettel replied: "[We were] playing around with the set up quite a bit, trying to squeeze out everything because we knew we had to if we wanted to have a front row or pole. So I think we put ourselves into this position. I think Daniel was strong yesterday, he was strong this morning. I think we got as close as we could."
Ferrari had a reasonable performance in the qualifying session. While Sebastian Vettel managed to secure a front row start for tomorrow's race, Kimi Raikkonen ended fourth behind the reigning world champion, Lewis Hamilton. The Monaco Grand Prix race will commence tomorrow at 2:10 PM GMT time.
