Hamilton: I switch into a different mode on Sunday

Lewis Hamilton claims that he switches into a different mode on Sundays in order to claim Grand Prix victories. The 33-year-old took his fifth win of the season last weekend in Hungary, dominating to cross the line over 17 seconds in front of rival Sebastian Vettel.
One week before in Germany, the Briton climbed to the top step of the podium despite starting the race from fourteenth on the grid. Reflecting on his race-day performances, the four-time world champion concluded that he switches into a different mode when it comes to the Grand Prix.
"For some reason I guess I switch into a different mode on Sunday," he said. "It was definitely a bit of a surprise. I'm really proud of all the team for keeping up the pace even though these guys turned up the heat the last few races. To come away with two wins is a testament to the strength in depth of our team."
However, Hamilton has called on Mercedes to make improvements in qualifying, as he believes that pole position (which he claimed in Hungary) would have been out of reach had it not rained in Budapest.
"For some reason the race is really our main strength," he said. "The current work and focus is making sure we improve in qualifying. We've had five poles out of 12 races, which is good but could be better. That's where we need to hit it with these guys because I think in the race we can generally hold our own."

I absolutely love Lewis' driving. I have since watching him in GP2. However, I can't stand his persona. So much of what he says sounds contrived. I feel as if whenever he is in front of a camera he is on character, like acting. As

I dont even really like his driving. I just dont like the way he manages to get away with nonsense like Mexico in 2016. And I dont like his persona either. A matter of taste, methinks, but Hammy isnt really my cuppa.

Well, somebody has to do it since party mode is not enough :D.
Seriouslly, I’m kinda tired of hearing how much special he his compared to everyone else. I bet every driver on the grid is preparing the best way he can, on any given GP day.

Ugh. What tripe. What mode does he switch into when he doesn’t win or does his mind also control Vettel when he disappears into the gravel and can he give other drivers the wobbles to have his race saved by a safety car? I expect such nonsense from a 10 year old.

I'm kind of the same way. For some reason I guess I switch into a different channel when Lewis is about to open his mouth.

Pff he's been in the best car for the last couple of years not so special when he is stuck behind and needs to overtake. Not my cup of tea; rather listen to vettel or Ricciardo or someone who doesn't spout nonsense.
