Haas to evaluate driver situation "after summer break"

Haas team principal Guenther Steiner says that the team will take a look at its driver options for 2019 following the summer break. F1 is currently on a three-week break in which no races are held, while it gives time for the 2019 grid to take shape.
Daniel Ricciardo shocked proceedings last weekend when he confirmed his switch to Renault. But Haas will not be looking at its line-up for next year until after F1 returns at Spa-Francorchamps at the end of the month.
It is believed that Kevin Magnussen will stay on with the American team, however question marks remain over the head of Romain Grosjean. The Frenchman has had a shaky season, but has picked up three point finishes in the last four races.
"I don't want to talk about the future," Steiner insisted. "We will study this question after the summer break. I have a lot of respect for Romain on a human level. Who would have taken the risk of joining us three years ago? He believed in us and our project," he added.

Though, i must agree that, with Alonso in the other Haas, the team would be in 4th spot within 100 points range. But, where is this rumor coming from?

I think Haas is currently the most attractive option for the unsigned drivers on the grid. Merc and Renault have their driver situation sorted, and Ferrari and Red Bull have theirs pretty much sorted (most pundits believe it will be Vet/Rai and Ver/Gas), that leaves Haas as the best remaining option (I wish I could say McLaren, but I believe that the earliest we can see them in a top 3-4 fight will be 2021). K-Mag will likely stay (well deserved) but Grosjean I think will have to beat Magnussen in every remaining race in order for him to keep his seat, especially since better drivers (in my opinion) are calling. Rumor has it Perez has put a call in to Haas. Also, every pundit seem to think that Gasly will go to Red Bull and Sainz will go to McLaren, and while I agree that Gasly is likely to get the nod, I'm not so sure that Sainz will go to McLaren if Haas offers him a seat.

I think so too. But I'm sure he'll be alright. There are plenty of other cars for him to crash next year outside of F1.
