Sebastian Vettel says that Ferrari still has lots of potential to unleash from its car. The Scuderia outfit has entered the 2018 season with a car that has challenged Mercedes, who has taken every championship title for the past four years.
While Ferrari was in the hunt for glory last year, it fell behind Mercedes towards the end of the season, winning just one race in the second half of the season. However, at the halfway point of the 2018 season, Vettel has already won the same number of races he did in the entirety of 2017.
And he's confident that the Italian team won't take a slump in performance in the second half of the current season: "As we’ve seen this year the pendulum seems to swing once this side, once that side, obviously you know, if it’s like this, consistency is the key, and scoring points,” he said.
"I didn't do myself a favour [in Germany] but I think it’s part of racing. Stuff happens. Compared to last year, we lost the championship I think because our car wasn’t quick enough to be a match in the final part of the season, despite what happened with the DNFs.
"So I hope that this year, and I think this year has shown so far that our car is more efficient, our car is stronger and still has a lot of potential to unleash. I’m quite confident with what’s sitting in the pipeline that we can improve. So, we’ll see. It should be an exciting second part of the year."

to win a championship one cannot let stuff happen. 20% skill 20% preparation 60% luck/car
a driver staying in the limits of the right car will win. thats how the fastest car loses with the best driver. See needs to realize he doesn't need to be his best to win but to be good enough to not exceed the cars limit.
