F1 race director Charlie Whiting says that it is entirely possible a Danish Grand Prix could feature on the 2020 calendar. The European country has been planning a race for a number of years through the streets of its capital Copenhagen.
Whiting revealed at Monza that he recently visited the city along with Formula 1 track designer Herman Tilke. The Briton says that Copenhagen officials invited Whiting to the city to make sure there are no issues from the FIA's point of view.
"They invited me because they are now presenting the project to the municipality and they wanted to make sure there are no problems from the FIA side," Whiting said on Friday.
"From our point of view it is entirely possible that we'll be there. It's not yet in place but from our point of view it's 100 per cent realistic. Now it's up the Danes to get all of the necessary permissions. It can easily be done by 2020."
A number of cities are aiming to bring F1 to their streets, as Miami was set to appear on the 2019 calendar. However the deal fell through, but it could yet get the go-ahead for 2020. Vietnam also recently received the green light from the government to host a race in Hanoi.
"All (government) ministries and agencies support the idea to create a new attraction for Hanoi," said Mai Tien Dung, chief of the government office. "Hanoi authorities have asked people living in the planned area for their opinions about holding the race and they have all shown their support, to attract tourists."

It is entirely possible, and it is also entirely possible that I may or may not grab a beer during the Italian GP. Which is more likely, pray tell?

The biggest enemy for this to happen are the Danes themselves (being a Dane myself).
A big portion of Danes want to be green and having a problem seeing how F1 can do much for Copenhagen to look green.
