Renault has launched a protest against Haas, questioning the legality of the VF-18. The American outfit overtook Renault in the constructor's standings following the Italian Grand Prix, moving up to fourth place.
Romain Grosjean crossed the line in P6 to bag eight points for Haas. Renault also achieved the top ten result with Carlos Sainz, however his P8 finish wasn't enough to keep the French team ahead of its rival. Both teams currently sit on 84 points, but Haas takes the position courtesy of having the best result this season (P4 at Austria).
A statement from the team said: "We confirm that we have submitted a request to the Stewards of the Event for clarification on the legality of the Haas F1 Team VF-18. We have no further comment on this matter until the Stewards have arrived at a decision."
Charlie Whiting has confirmed that the protest regards Haas' floor. A hearing will take place at 18:30 local Monza time, with officials from both parties present. Haas introduced a new floor this weekend having tested it at Spa one week ago.

Business as usual for F1. Somebody on the Renault team would be out of a job if they weren't making a big deal out of this.
