Charles Leclerc has opened up on his relationship with Jock Clear in 2019, describing how the Briton has been helping him throughout his maiden year with Ferrari.
Clear has worked with multiple drivers throughout his career in Formula 1, including world champions Jacques Villeneuve, Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.

Leclerc stated that Clear is using his experience to help Leclerc operate with his engineers in order to extract the maximum from the car.
"Jock has been helping me on a general view through the weekends, helping with both of my engineers, I have a performance engineer with me too," Leclerc said.
"He is looking to see how the collaboration is with all of us, trying to help me in directions and the way I express myself to them.
"It's very important, I think people underestimate how important it is to make it clear to the engineers exactly what you want.
"He has a lot of experience in how I should be expressing myself to them. After the weekend we sit down together and he tells me the things we collaborated with better, the things that were positive."
Leclerc maintains that the SF90 has a lot of pace within it, as demonstrated at a couple of races this season.
However, Ferrari and Leclerc have lacked consistency with its speed, with Leclerc adding that he must continue to work hard with his engineers in order to get on top of his teammate Sebastian Vettel and the other competition.
"I can see from the start of the season that when we put everything together, we are very strong. But I think as a team, and also myself, I need to work better with my engineers to be on top most of the time which has not been the case.
"I'm new to the team, Seb has been in the team for many years. But I need to work on consistency. In Baku and Bahrain, the performance was great. We just need to understand and try to be there everytime."

Im going to say ‘vettel is faster than you’ and you would give the position to Vettel. Got it? Now write it down.
