McLaren has confirmed when it will launch its 2020 Formula 1 car on an online stream hosted by Lando Norris.

The car, which will be named the MCL35, will break cover on February 13th, according to Norris and the "leak" that was posted online.

Norris was giving a brief tour of the McLaren factory in Woking when he walked in on a meeting of McLaren personell, where discussions about the car launch took place.

“I heard it’s on the 13th of Feb,” Norris said. “It is, right? Zak [Brown] told me it’s on the 13th.”

The date means that McLaren is the third team to officially confirm its launch date for the 2020 campaign, as it follows Ferrari but precedes Alpha Tauri.

The Woking-based team will be hoping to continue its strong momentum from the 2019 season, which saw it end up fourth in the constructors' championship, its best result since 2012.

It also bagged its first podium since the opening race of the 2014 season, as Carlos Sainz was promoted to third place post-race in Brazil.

    • I think we have a really good season ahead of us. My concern is however that the top 3 might be further away than ever, as they'll spend anything they can to have a good lead up to 2021. :/
