Dan Ticktum looking to return in F3

British Teenager Dan Ticktum is looking to make his return to racing at the Macau Grand Prix after serving a ban.

The 17-year-old was initially handed a two year ban for deliberately crashing into Ricky Collard at an MSA Formula Race at Silverstone last year. That ban was later reduced to 12 months.

At the time he said: "I want to apologize to my fellow drivers all those people who have supported me in the motor racing community. I also want to apologize to all the marshals and MSA officials at Silverstone this weekend."

He has since been testing Formula Three machinery privately and has set his sights on the Macau Grand Prix in November with Double R Racing.

He has been running with Alexander Sims during testing, and both will likely run at the MSV F3 event at Snetterton in October as to qualify for the Macau Grand Prix, you must complete at least two F3 races in the same calendar year.

Despite the incident last year, Ticktum has impressed Double R team manager Anthony Hieatt.

"It's a really exciting line-up," he said. "Dan is bloody rapid and I've got a lot of respect for his driving in the F3 car. "
