The FIA have announced that certain changes will be made the the Formula Three European championships for 2017. Keeping with the intention that the series is for junior drivers, the maximum age for competing has been set to 25 years old.

The number of years a driver can compete in this series has been raised from three to four. There is also a limit to team personnel at the race weekends and a limit on the number of trucks that are placed for a team in the paddock.

All this is to ensure that the costs do not get out of hand and to bring the field closer together. The entry fee has also been downsized with the number at 2,000 euros per event.
