Trident is proud to complete the team's 2015 line-up with the addition of Colombian Oscar Tunjo. The 19-year-old racer will drive the Trident-prepared #28 GP3 Series car beginning from the collective test scheduled in the coming days at Estoril.
Tunjo started his racing career at the tender age of 5, enjoying a successful karting stint. At 8, he moved to Europe where he won the Spanish karting Championship. When he was 14, he began to climb his learning curve with single-seater cars in several different championships. Now, the move to the GP3 Series helps him to inch even closer to Formula 1.
The team and the driver will start working together next Wednesday, when they will take the car on-track in an effort to find the perfect chemistry and confidence straight away.
Giacomo Ricci commented: "I'm delighted to have reached an agreement with Oscar, completing the driver line-up of our GP3 operation. As well as his team-mates, Tunjo has an interesting driving style that I'm sure will bring us lots of satisfaction in the future."
Oscar Tunjo said: "After the agreement I signed with Trident, I'm very motivated. It's the next challenge in my professional racing career and I can't wait to start working hard together with the team. The goal is to be a stable presence at the front of the grid and fight for podium finishes and wins."
