Williams' 2014 challenger, the FW36 has been spotted in its Martini livery for the first time.
Rumours have been flying around since the dawn of pre-season testing in Jerez that Martini would be sponsoring the famous British team after being involved with the Italian Tecno and British Brabham teams in the 1970's, as well as
Ferrari in 2006.
The leaked photograph confirms the partnership between the two organisation just hours after an official announcement was made with Brazilian multinational energy firm Petrobras confirming their presence with the Grove-based outfit in what has been described as a 'multi-year deal'.
Jaguar were the last British-based Formula 1 team to have a major sponsorship deal with an alcohol company, when they were sponsored by the north-German 'Becks' beer company.
It is widely expected that for the races where alcohol advertisements are banned that the Martini logo will be either replaced with the Williams team logo or a barcode, similar to that of Ferrari's Marlboro sponsorship circa 2010, or
McLaren's West sponsorship pre-2006.

Congratulations to F1Today.net on this amazing scoop. It has certainly raised your worldwide profile and deservedly so.
Just a couple of things for the F1 trivia buffs like me out there. On your list of Martini's F1 sponsorship deals you left out their tie-up with Lotus in 1979. Also, I would say that the last British-based F1 teams to have major alcohol company sponsors were (are) McLaren (Johnnie Walker) and above all Force India (United brands Whyte & Mackay whisky, Kingfisher beer and Royal Challenge whisky).
