Hamilton was fastest in the third practice session of Belgium at Spa. The brit were half a second faster than the closest car, fellow Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg. Both drove with full fuel load and prime tyres. Third and fourth respectively were both Ferrari drivers Vettel and Räikkönen.

Red Bull showed a decent pace this session, with Both Ricciardo and Kvyat leading for a while, both with the softer tyre option on. Force India, too, showed great performance, with Perez in 5th before both Red Bull drivers, and Hulkenberg right behind them. Williams completed the top ten with 9th for Bottas and 10th for Massa.

Toro Rosso began the session well, but Verstappen was plagued by a lack of pace for reasons the team couldnt figure out and ended up 13th. Maldonado from Lotus scored a 12th crashfree place. Grosjean nearly had an incident with the Ferrari of Räikkönen, when the Finn drove a bit slower on the race line while gathering battery power, and the french nearly drove into him.

McLaren did once again not show any signs of improvement, with Button only reaching up to 17th. Alonso suffered from an exhaust issue, and the team could not get the car fixed for this session. The problem will not induce any further penalties. Neither driver has suffered from any other reliability issues so far this weekend.
